We envision a music industry with fair compensation, protections from discrimination, and supportive relationships between music workers of all sorts. We envision an ever-growing community of consumers that value and support music workers in New Mexico.
The New Mexico Music Workers (NMMW) is a collective of individuals who work in the field of music, and more broadly, performing arts. We define music workers as anyone involved with the production of music in live and/or studio performances, such as musicians, agents, managers, sound techs, studio owners, presenters, promoters, venue owners, producers, stage managers, talent buyers, sound engineers, music supervisors, license coordinators, program coordinators, and more. While our focus is the music industry, we recognize our goals and mission are applicable to many other industries. All who resonate with these beliefs are welcome to join our conversation and use resources provided here.
To support and advocate for music workers living in rural and urban communities in New Mexico through development of resources and networks by and for music workers. NMMW resources aim to provide transparency, education, and mutual understanding between all music workers and the public. NMMW seeks to cultivate a mentality of abundance, where music workers collaborate to create innovative models that support equitable and sustainable music careers.
